  1. Thank you for your reply. Handwriting is a two-edged sword. More and better practise will improve the readability of the written work. My handwriting has significantly deteriorated since I switched to the keyboard. Spell and grammar checking are only a benefit if they use the correct dictionary and language settings, which most don’t.

  2. What’s interesting is that a lot of our English teachers here are going back to the good old pen and paper method and the kids do their essays in class (no laptops are permitted). It’s a good thing and a bad thing. It’s good because then they can’t use AI, but it’s bad because now English teachers have to figure out the handwriting of all their students, there’s no spell check, no grammar check…but I guess that’s better than the kids using AI?
