Oak Hall Junior Austin Montini earned first place this morning at the Class 1A Region 2 cross country meet. His victory solidified his advancement to the state championship meet on Saturday, Nov. 9 in Tallahassee. Joining Montini is the rest of the boys team, as the team won first place at the regional meet. According to the Florida High School Athletics Association (FHSAA), the top eight teams, and the top 15 runners advance to the state finals.
Sophomore Lauren Jones won second place at the aforementioned meet, and the Lady Eagles earned second place as a team. Unfortunately, the rest of the times of our runners are not available until Sunday, when the rest of the regional meets have been completed.
