Fall Sports Keep on Truckin’

Volleyball

The Lady Eagles varsity volleyball team has been rocking and rolling this season, including a third place finish at an incredibly competitive tournament on Sept. 6 and 7. Coming up is Dig Pink and Senior Night, both on Oct. 3.

Remaining home volleyball games:
Sept. 18 – JV (5:30 p.m.) and Varsity (6:30 p.m.)
Sept. 20 – Middle School (4:30 p.m.)
Sept. 23 – Middle School (4 p.m.), JV (5:30 p.m.), and Varsity (6:30 p.m.)

Football

Both the Middle School and Varsity football teams currently have winning records this season. After dominating St. Joseph’s Academy 28-14 on Sept. 13, the Varsity Eagles snapped the 13-game regular season winning streak held by the Flashes (aka St. Joseph’s hadn’t lost a regular season game in 694ish days).

Cross Country

Both boys and girls cross country teams have placed second overall in both meets so far this season. Individual highlights include junior Austin Montini winning the boys race Sept. 14 at Bartram Trail (Jacksonville), and sophomore Lauren Jones finishing fourth at the opening race of the season on Sept. 7.

Swimming & Diving

After many lightning-delayed practices, the Eagles Swimming & Diving team came out strong at its first meet on Aug. 29. Senior Colby Curtis won the 50 free and placed second in the 100 fly, while seniors Evie Kelly and Natalie Saliwanchik, along with sophomore Kaylee Rowe took the top three spots in the diving competition against St. Francis.

Golf

Both the girls and boys golf teams began the season on a high note, as both teams placed second at the Celtic Invitational at Stone Creek Country Club on Aug. 17.
